FOUNDING PRINCIPLE HOMES
With the goal in mind for a building company that provides a thoughtful, unique home building experience, I laid a foundation with the principles I hold onto while creating homes.
I believe the hours, months, and years that go into a home deserve to be curated by a home building process with the same level of intention and persistence.
My custom home building career began as a love for woodworking and architectural design. Growing up along the lakeshore in Whitehall brought an opportunity to learn from talented craftspeople and great technical-minds. Seeing the varying ways that homes played a role in lives along the lakeshore as residences, cottages, nature retreats, and beautiful statements opened my understanding of spaces.
After learning the fine details of carpentry and furniture-making at a young age, I found an outlet for my passions in the luxury home sector working as a carpenter. Years of creating with my hands and repairing failed assemblies in existing homes pushed my pursuit of enduring structures and studies in building science. My eye for the client experience and choreography required to pull off complex assemblies drew me into roles in project management. Over the years, my passion for craftsmanship was joined by one for the collaboration that takes place when creating excellent spaces.
