our project
To build and encourage the building of homes that balance efficiency, aesthetics, and enduring quality.
FOUNDING PRINCIPLE HOMES
My custom home building career began as a love for woodworking and architectural design. I found an outlet in the luxury home sector as a carpenter, and then a project manager. Over the past decade, my passion has become collaborating with clients to bring their ideas to life using a rigorous attention to detail. I work to help people transform their environment into something that speaks to their personal style, while retaining architecturally congruent design, utilizing the technologies at the forefront of building science, and above all, top level quality building practices.
This is what Principle Homes was founded upon.
I wanted people to be connected with their space, and that starts by being connected with the process. With the goal in mind for a building company to connect people in this way, I set about crafting an enduring foundation to it: the principles I hold onto while crafting homes.
I believe the hours, months, and years that go into an idea like a home deserve to be curated by a process with the same level of intention and persistence.

APPROACH
Craftsmanship and Collaboration are broad concepts. They capture the fundamentals of how we approach building and projects. These are the details that define us.
Building a house that someone makes into a home is more than its pieces, parts, and specifications. Building is a service.
Builders need to be accessible, and invisible, a concept well grasped by restauranteurs. As creatives, we love to guide, craft, and curate. Though collaborating happens within others’ creative vision too.
To build it well, a commitment to the process and the people involved is imperative. Committing to the structure itself is crucial too. We are stewards of the world around us, and the people we are with. Let’s commit to stewardship of everyone’s resources during the project… and after.
Sustainability underpins service. It can look like commitment to the process, but also minimizing waste. Reusing structures, minimizing re-work during the process, and reducing the impact of products all factor in. Sustainability looks like doing it right the first time, something that endures.
Craftsmanship in Building starts before the building does… and persists.
